For the size of its population (just under 4 million) there are few countries that perform as well in international sports as New Zealand and the reason for this is a competitive sports culture, which starts at infancy and continues right through to latter life.
Almost without exception all New Zealand schools have excellent playing fields and sports facilities and are always eager to take on fresh competition at any level. Almost all international sporting codes can be catered for and for serious teams remember New Zealand has an opposite season to the Northern Hemisphere so it presents excellent out of season training and games. Add to this a truly temperate to sub tropical climate and the outstanding beauty of the New Zealand countryside with great possibilities for winter skiing, ocean and white water canoeing surfing and the result is an excellent tour destination.
Our itinerary (attached) is a blue print for your tour. It is flexible as most sports tours involve home billeting with host schools in New Zealand and where this occurs a modest daily handling rate replaces hotel/motel accommodation and meal costs. For the most part New Zealand schools will provide free or reciprocal hospitality for visiting teams, of up to a few days at a time during the period of school or club interchange. This is dependent on availability the timing of visits and existing sports commitments.
Schools and sports clubs are invited to submit requests to Educational Travel International Ltd for obligation free itineraries and quotations. Teams are matched as far as is possible based on age and expertise, and coaching by professional sports administrators is available as an extra service on request.
If visiting teams can provide reciprocal hospitality and games in their own country that is greatly appreciated and desirable but not always necessary.
The tour requests should contain specific requests for any additional activities such as surfing, ocean kayaking, etc. and the type of pay accommodation requested (hotel, motel, hostel) when on the "on tour" section of the itinerary. The budget will be tailored to your needs
